I started out in consultancy with PA in 1999, where I was involved in some of the largest IT deals in the 2000′s, including BP’s £750M telecoms outsourcing to Worldcom, Sabre’s £1.4BN sale of its infrastructure outsourcing business to EDS, and the UK MOD’s £3BN Defence Information Infrastructure Project.
I left PA in 2005 to found Newbury Management Consultants. The company specialises in business improvement and growth, focussing on:
- bidding for big contracts
- building or rebuilding teams
- negotiating contracts on buyer or supplier side
- navigating the murky waters of public sector procurement
I have worked with large corporate clients including Steria, EADS (now Cassidian), the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Justice and O2. I’ve also helped a range of smaller companies including processfour, the Agile Delivery Network and Actica Consulting.
In 2017 I left consulting to work for O2 – the best client I had worked with over my consulting career.
Outside work, I am a cricket nut and bass player. I have the privilege of fronting the Extra Covers, the finest covers band in the north Thatcham area (now that’s an example of niche marketing!).

If you want to get in touch, don’t hesitate. My number is at the top of the page, along with my email address. I am no longer actively involved in consultancy work, but that shouldn’t stop you from reaching out. The worst that could happen is we have an interesting conversation.
